Hasta hace unas horas, apenas tenía conocimientos de Flash. Era un mundo inexplorado para mí, lo desconocido. Que fíjate tú qué chorrada, que no es un programa especialmente difícil... pero yo soy lennnnta y necesito que me expliquen las cosas.

Hasta hoy. Hoy, ya sé Flash.

Y coincidiendo hoy con el día en el que he conseguido que me funcionen Maya, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects y Flash sin que me falle ninguno... Hoy, amigos míos, es el día de la Victoria.

Until hours ago, I had nearly no notions of Flash. It was an unexplored world for me, the unknown. It's no big deal, you know, it's not specially difficult... but I'm sloooooooow and I need someone explaining me how these things work.

And today is also the day that I've been able to run Maya, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Flash without any of them crashing... Today, my friends, I've reached Victory.

Y es verdad. Llueve. Lo mismo que hace sol, viento, frío y calor. Todo el mismo día.

Esta vez parecía que sí que me había muerto o algo. Pero no, estoy aquí. Mañana hará un mes que estoy en Londres y ayer me matriculé. Mi nueva uni mola mil. Ya soy oficialmente una estudiante de máster. Tomaya.

Cuando vine por primera vez me pareció una ciudad fea y dije que no querría vivir aquí (tenía trece años, qué le vamos a hacer). Ahora, aquí por tercera vez, he descubierto –sentido nulo de la orientación aparte– que soy un poco londinense. Me mola este sitio. Es una putada que sea tan endiabladamente caro. Voy a tener que hacerme asquerosamente rica para pagar las facturas...

Soy breve hoy. Sólo deciros que estoy viva, estoy bien y que a partir de ahora intentaré daros la tabarra más a menudo :)

This time it looked like I was dead or something. But no, I'm here. Tomorrow it'll be a month since I came to London and yesterday I did the whole enrollment thing. My new uni building is cool. And I'm officially a master student. Yeah.

When I visited London for the first time I found it ugly and said I wouldn't want to live here (forgive my thirteen year old past-self). Now, here for the third time, I've discovered that I may be a little of a londoner –nule orientation sense appart–. I like this place. It's a shame that it is so fucking expensive. I'll have to become filthy rich to pay bills...

¡Tres meses sin actualizar! Tiene que ser un nuevo récord XD

Así, a grandes rasgos: me he licenciado y estoy preparando el viaje a Londres. Lo de licenciarme, pensé que sería mucho más traumático y triste. Llevaba tiempo temiendo el momento en el que lo haría, porque no quería dejar la facultad. Es uno de los sitios donde más en casa me he sentido en toda mi vida. Sin embargo, el momento llegó y ocurrió y pasó y creo que casi no me di cuenta.
Sobre lo de Londres, he adoptado mi técnica de "todavía no ha llegado, no pienses en ello". El día que coja el avión supongo que ya me acojonaré, pero por ahora intento llevarlo lo más calmadamente posible.

No, el corto no está. Más quisiera yo. Está terminado, pero no está terminado como a mí me gustaría, así que por ahora lo dejo en pausa y ya os actualizaré más adelante.

Os dejo mejor con la excusa para volver a felicitar a mi amiga Laura: su tarjeta de cumpleaños.

Three months without posting anything! That must be a new record xD

Big news: I got my degree and I'm preparing for London. The graduating thing, I thought it'd be so sad and traumatic. I was dreading the moment I had to do it, because I didn't want to leave university. It's been one of the places I could call home. But, the moment came, happened and passed away and I didn't even realized.
About London, I've adopted my "it's not here yet, don't think about it" technique. The day I catch the flight I might freak out, but for now I'm good.

No, still no short film. I'd love to, but no. It's finished, but not as I'd like it to be finished, so for now I leave it on pause and I will update you later on.

¡Esta entrada viene cargadita!

*Está en calidad-super-chachi-1080, así que recomiendo ir a youtube para verlo en todo su esplendor.

Un trabajo para la asignatura de Moviemaking, en la que trabajamos con cámaras, iluminación, cromas y postproducción. Este es todo croma porque queríamos un efecto cartoon con imagen de acción real. Creo que no ha quedado mal xD

Actúan María y David, aunque también estuvieron detrás de las cámaras y frente al ordenador, por supuesto. Los fondos son de Borja (que no tiene blog, odiadle). Fran y yo hemos hecho nuestra parte de rodaje y efectos de posproducción, junto con el resto del grupo.

No he hecho ninguna maravilla aquí, pero he aprendido más cositas técnicas, ¡lo cuál siempre está bien!

Bonus: en Junio del año pasado realizamos un corto entre amigos, titulado El novio de mi amiga está de miedo y dirigido por David, que recientemente estrenó en familia. Si queréis vernos hacer el mandril, romance y serie Z casero, aquí tenéis la mejor combinación (no tenéis ni que moveros de la página, mira que os lo doy fácil xD)

A short film for the Moviemaking subject, in which we worked with cameras, lights, chroma key and lots of postproduction. This is all chroma 'cause we wanted a cartoon effect with live action. I think the results are quite good XD (Better watch it on Youtube to appreciate the HD!)

In front of the camera, María and David, altough they also worked behind camera and in postproduction. Backgrounds by Borja (who doesn't have a blog, hate him). Fran and I did our part of recording and postproduction effects with the rest of the group.

I didn't make anything notorious here, but I learnt a lot about technical aspects of audiovisual production, which is always useful!

Bonus: just in Spanish for now, I'm sorry! We're thinking about subtitles, so if we do it I'll post it right away!!

Y esto es lo que he enviado a la Central Saint Martins de Londres, para ver si me cogen en su máster (he aquí mi gran secreto, creo que ahora ya lo sabe todo el mundo, oficialmente). Ahora todo está en manos de Correos y del Royal Mail. Después, en manos de los responsables del máster. Y, si deciden llamarme, la pelota vuelve a mí cuando haga la entrevista.

Os tendré al tanto. Mientras, los nervios se me comen viva. Pero sobreviviré, lo prometo. También prometo, si me cogen, renovar el blog y añadir las experiencias Londinenses. Toma ya.

This is what I can show you from my animation work these past three years.

Y una semana también. Pobre, pobre maleta...

Llevo cuatro días alimentándome de pizza barbacoa adulterada -mejor no preguntéis-, nocilla y salchichas de frankfurt. Y combinados de alcohol. Apenas bebo, así que esto es un hit. No creo que repita en mucho mucho tiempo xD

A Dvd se le ocurrió llevar impresos los memes de fuck yeah, fuuuu, forever alone, etc. Fueron un éxito, ya que para entes que viven el 50% del tiempo en internet, resultan útiles a la hora de comunicarse -que no para socializar, por suerte tenemos algunos trucos en la manga para eso... usamos máscaras venecianas XD-. La que más éxito tuvo fue trollface, con diferencia... ¿por qué será?

Me he llevado el tarro de nocilla de 1kg. y lo tengo de contrabando en mi cuarto, porque sino mi hermano lo engulle en dos horas y mi madre me echa la bronca por comer comida-mala-mala.

I've been feeding on barbeque pizza with some unexpected toppings -don't ask, you don't want to know-, nocilla and frankfurt sausages. And lots of cocktails. I hardly drink, so this is a hit. I don't think I'm doing it again soon, though xD

Dvd thought it would be a good idea to print internet memes like fuck yeah, fuuuu, forever alone, etc. It was a very good idea, as beings that live 50% of their time on the internet, they were useful to communicate -not to socialize, fortunately we know some tricks about that... we use venetian masks xD-. The most popular was trollface... why, I wonder?

I've taken the 1kg. nocilla pot with me and I've hidden it in my room, 'cause if not my brother would eat it in two hours and my mother would scold me for eating bad-bad-food.

Sí, antes de la película, Avatar, The Last Airbender es una serie de animación.
A primera vista es una serie de dibujos animados de Nickelodeon para niños. Pero a primera vista, Toy Story es una película de animación para niños ¿no? En animación nunca hay que quedarse con la "primera vista". Te pierdes todo lo que hay, tras pegarle una ojeada a fondo.

Avatar transcurre en un mundo de influencia muy oriental, en el que habitan animales fantásticos, dividido en cuatro naciones que corresponden a los cuatro elementos. En ellas vive gente que puede controlar esos elementos, pero sólo uno de ellos. Y por encima de todos ellos está el Avatar, un ente muy poderoso, que se reencarna en cada generación en un maestro de un elemento distinto, pero que a la vez puede controlar el resto de elementos. El Avatar se encarga de mantener el equilibrio del mundo y es juez de toda la humanidad, por encima de cualquier nación.

Ahora... ¿qué pasaría si el todopoderoso Avatar fuera un niño de 12 años con mucho sentido del humor, algo hiperactivo, vegetariano y hubiera sido criado por monjes budistas en un monasterio en las montañas? Para más inri, este niño tendrá que enfrentarse a una guerra que empezó la Nación del Fuego hace nada menos que 100 años, los que él lleva congelado en un bloque de hielo junto con su visonte volador, Appa.

Repito, no nos quedemos con la primera impresión, podríamos pensar que es una locura de serie. Muy al contrario, es una serie de personajes muy entrañables e interesantes (se podría hacer todo un post sobre el general Iroh, tío del príncipe Zuko, un príncipe desterrado por su propio padre, condenado a buscar al Avatar al que no se ha visto en 100 años). Y precisamente uno de los más entrañables de todos es el mismo Aang, el protagonista. Taaaaaaan entrañable, que tenía que dedicarle un fan art como mínimo.

El alma de la serie. Serie que recomiendo, pero mucho.

Yes, before the movie, Avatar, The Last Airbender is an animation series. At first glanceit is an animated series from Nickelodeon aimed for kids. But, at first glance, Toy Story is also an animation movie aimed for kids, isn't it? In animation, there should be no "first glance". You might loose everything else that is there to see.

Avatar takes place in a world with a heavy oriental influence, inhabitated with fantastic animals, divided in four nations, which correspond to the four elements. In each nation, there's people that can control those elements, but just one of them. And above all of them there's the Avatar, a very powerful being that reincarnates in different master bender -controler of an element- but at the same time can control the rest of the elements. The Avatar is responsible for the balance of the world and is judge of all humanity, above any nation and goverment.

Now... what would happen if the almighty powerful Avatar was a 12 year old with quite a sense of humour, a bit of an hyperactive, vegetarian and had been raised by buddhist monks on a monastery on the mountains? To add more, this kid will have to confront a war that the Fire Nation began no less than 100 years ago, 100 years that he has been frozen into a block of ice with his flying bison, Appa.

I insist, we should not keep the first impression, we could think this is some kind of madness. On the contrary, it is a series of very likeable and interesting characters (you could do a post just talking about general Iroh, uncle of prince Zuko, a prince banished by his own father, the Fire Lord, condemned to look for an Avatar that has not been seen in 100 years). And one of the most cute characters of all is Aang, the main character. Sooooo cute that I had to make a fan art just for him.

The Infamous Comic

No lo he bautizado el "Infame" por nada. Para empezar, no está ni terminado. Fue una gran cagada, falta de organización mezclado con el "venga, voy a probar" sin conocer muy bien los límites de lo que era capaz de hacer y lo que no. Y claro, yo hubiera construido un Titanic, y acabé con un barquito de pesca con agujeros.

Pero bueno, de todo se aprende. Ha sido una experiencia que me ha servido para conocerme mejor y para entender todo lo que conlleva hacer un trabajo así. Me suele costar mucho ver trabajos pasados que considero que no están bien hechos, pero si lo subo aquí, será un recordatorio de que lo puedo hacer mejor.

Y de que no se me da bien dibujar fondos.

I didn't gave it the name of "the Infamous" for anything. Actually, it isn't even finished. My lack of organization, with some of "well, let's give it a try" without really knowing my limits of what I could and I couldn't do, had a lot to do on this. I wanted to build a Titanic and ended up with a little fish boat with holes. But you learn from everything. It's been an experience that's brought me to know myself a little better and to know what kind of work a comic requires. I find difficult to watch past works I don't like, but if it's posted here, I will have a reminder that I can do better than this.

And that backgrounds are my personal hell.

Un mes y pico desde la última vez que actualicé... debo haber batido mi record xD

Han pasado muchas cosas: he terminado el curso, he conseguido un curro y he tomado decisiones importantes (en mi pequeña y modesta vida, a lo mejor para otro/a serían una chorrada). Ya sé qué asignaturas cursaré el año que viene, mi último año en bellas artes. No me extiendo más sobre eso porque acabaré en plan lacrimógeno y no es cuestión.

Sobre las decisiones... un dibujito. Soy lo peor tomando decisiones "importantes". Me vuelvo un manojo de nervios hasta que me decido. Cuando me decido me quedo tan ancha, pero el proceso hasta ahí es complicado.

Llegar a la gran conclusión (esta vez un "NO") tuvo su recompensa: saqué este dibujico y además se me ocurrió una idea para un mini-corto de animación. No prometo tenerlo en breves, pero no voy a dejarlo apartado en un rincón.

Volveré pronto, posiblemente con el "Infame Cómic de Proyectos". Pero sobre eso os hablaré a la próxima. Si queda alguien, claro (¡Hola! XD).

About a month, or even more, since I posted anything. I'm sure I've exceeded my own record xD

A lot of things have happened: my university year is finished, I got a job and I made important decisions (they're important in my little modest life, maybe in someone else's life they aren't). I already know which subjects I will take next year, my last year in Fine Arts. But I won't talk much about that 'cause I will end up crying all over you and you wouldn't like that.

About decisions... a doodle. I'm the worst in the world making "though" decisions. I get nervous and more nervous until I actually know what to do. When I do, I relax, but the process is difficult.

Reaching the big conclusion (in this case a big "NO") gave me something in reward: a doodle and some ideas for a little short animation movie. I won't have it shortly, but I won't let it get away either.

I'll come back soon, probably with my "Infamous Drawing Projects Comic". But I'll tell you about that then. If there's still someone there (Hi! XD).

Esto es un día que llegas a clase y al profesor se le ha ido tanto la pinza que dice que toda la clase tenéis que grabar sonidos hechos con la boca e interpretarlos después como te de la gana. Individual. En menos de un mes. 25 segundos. Para proyecto final.

PD: Es un test al que tuve que bajarle la calidad para subirlo a youtube y no morir en el intento. Hay que corregir cosas y probablemente volver a retocar todas las imágenes y adaptarlo al formato que toca. Pero bueno xD

PD: It's a test which I had to make smaller to upload it to youtube and not die in the process, so quality is crap. It still needs a lot of work, retouching images and resizing and all that. But still... xD

Me siento especialmente inspirada cuando el trabajo me llega hasta el cuello. Siempre me da por hacer alguna tira o ponerme a "practicar con el photoshop". Ahora bien, el trabajo... ahí está.

Versión "realista" de un viejo personaje mío, Aurore, que quizá retome si consigo sacar una historia decente. Sino, me dedicaré a dibujarla compulsivamente, como siempre hago.

Por fin, el "estreno oficial" del corto de animación stopmotion. Ha costado pero ha valido la pena. Lo hemos pasado muy bien y estamos muy orgullosos. Sabemos que no es el mejor corto de la historia, pero nos hemos esforzado.

En esta otra entrada en la que presentaba a Bob enlacé la canción "M1 A1" de Gorillaz. Lo hice porque esta canción empieza con el principio de la película de George Romero "El Amanecer de los Muertos", que es la película que homenajeamos/parodiamos. Por supuesto, todo esto viene vía Marineta y Jon, que son un par de frikis y les encantan estas pelis.

The "official premiere" of our short stopmotion movie, at last! It's been worth all the work. We enjoyed it very much and we're very proud. It's not the best short movie in the world, but we did a good job.

In this post were I introduced Bob I linked Gorillaz's "M1 A1", which uses the first part of George's Romero "Dawn of the Dead". Our short movie is a tribute/parody to this movie. Of course, this idea came up thanks to Marineta and Jon that are two proud freaks and love this kind of movies.

Me quedan aproximadamente 11cm. de lápiz. El lápiz más maravilloso, obediente y útil sobre casi todo tipo de papel que jamás me haya encontrado. Sí, porque me lo encontré. Pregunté y como no parecía ser de nadie me lo quedé.

No lo tienen en ninguna de las tiendas de bellas artes en las que he preguntado. Y se acaba. Snif, snif.

Este es Bob. Es el prota de nuestro mini-corto (no más de un minuto). Está hecho de plastilina, tiene cuentas por ojos y un megáfono de cartulina. Pertenece al mundo de los vivos. Busca gente. Habita un mundo post-apocalíptico, con ramitas de árboles, trozos de personitas de plastilina y más personajes de plastilina. Antes llevaba camisa de cuadros, pero resultó ser un amor imposible combinado con la plastilina y el movimiento. Cada cierto tiempo necesita repararse, porque se queda hecho un asco.

This is Bob. He's the main character in our little short movie (no more than 1 minute). He's made of plasticine, has beads for eyes and a megaphone made of card. He is alive. He searches for people and lives in a post-apocalyptic world, with little tree branches, bits of plasticine people and more plasticine characters. He used to wear a checked shirt, but it was an impossible love between the fabric, the plasticine and the movement. From time to time he needs repairing, 'cause he ends badly wounded.

A veces me encantaría saber relajarme, meditar y alcanzar la paz interior y todas esas cosas tan guays. Mi técnica de relajación es ordenar cosas. Normalmente soy un desastre absoluto, así que ordenando mi cuarto y mi escritorio me relajo y me da la sensación -momentánea- de que mi vida está ordenada. Luego desordeno progresivamente hasta el momento en el que tengo que volver a ordenar. Y una vez, y otra, y otra...

Iba yo con todo el ánimo, empezando bien el año, con ganas de trabajar. No soy rápida, pero iba haciendo cosas, preparando el cómic que haré para proyectos de dibujo. Estaba motivada y, aún no obteniendo los resultados que hubiera querido, conseguí hacer mejoras y sorprenderme a mí misma. Entregué el políptico y me dije: "Y ahora te tomas un descansito y después vuelves para currar como no has currado en la vida."

Y entonces nos dieron el calendario de trabajos. Y tocó hacer esto:

Los españoles tendréis cierta idea de qué son las Fallas. Deciros que hay un porcentaje bastante importante de valencianos a los que no nos entusiasman tanto como al resto. Creo que se ha reflejado en el cartel, ya que lo he acabado bautizando "El Cartel Aséptico" o "El Cartel Pre-Fallas". Más que nada porque nadie en la imagen parece estar de fiesta.

¿Cosas positivas? El estilo de dibujo es sencillo y funciona muy bien, especialmente en dibujos pequeños. Es algo que investigaré. Y que si me premian el cartel (va para concurso, para la cátedra de metrovalencia de nuestra facultad) me podría llevar un dinerillo. Que ni de coña me lo premian, pero la esperanza es lo último que se pierde xD

I was very motivated; the beginning of the year was good. I'm not fast, but I was doing a lot of things, preparing the comic I'll be doing for my final project for 'Proyectos de Dibujo'. Even if I didn't get the results I was looking for, I got some improvements and surprised myself. I presented the polyptych. Then I said to myself: "Now you've earned a little rest. And after that, you'll be working like you've never worked before."

And then we were delivered the work calendar for the subject. And we had to do the poster above.

Spaniards will know what 'Fallas' are. Some of us Valencians do not like Fallas. I think the poster reflects that. I have even named it "The Aseptic Poster" or "The Before-Fallas Poster". Why? Well, nobody in that poster seems to be celebrating anything, do they?

Positive things? Some: the drawing style is simple and it works well, especially in small pictures. I'll be investigating that. And, moreover, if my poster gets selected and wins a price (we had the option to present the poster to a contest), I could win some money. Not that I'm going to win, but I'm still not losing my hopes xD

Rotoscopy rehab

Como prometí, aquí está el vídeo del ejercicio de rotoscopia. Más corto y menos trabajado de lo que quería, pero aún así le tengo hasta algo de cariño. El tema eran "besos de cine", para que os hagáis una idea. Youtube me ha traicionado, así que me he pasado a Vimeo.

Mi rotoscopia está hecha toda en digital, dejando parte del frame original. La hice con la wacom. Para que veáis algo distinto os dejo también la de Marineta, que ha hecho una rotoscopia muy bonita con tinta china y plumilla (un currazo).

La siguiente técnica es stopmotion, en concreto animación con plastilina. Es una técnica que me hace mucha ilusión, siempre he querido probar y tendremos dos meses para hacerlo, así que ¡yuju!

Like I said, here's the video of the rotoscopy exercise (above). Shorter and less worked than I had in mind, but I even like it a little bit. The theme was "movie kisses", so you know. Youtube is a traitor, so I've changed into Vimeo.
My rotoscopy was done all digitaly, with some of the original frame still present. I did it with my Wacom tablet. So you can see something different, here you are Marineta's rotoscopy, who did a beautiful job with ink and traditional means.

The next technique is stopmotion, animation with plasticine actually. This is a technique I was looking forward to. And we have two months to do it, so hurray!

Se me ha ocurrido una idea. En animación estamos trabajando un ejercicio de rotoscopia* sobre besos de películas (estará en el blog en cuanto termine) y creo que nos queda alguna técnica más ("animación bajo cámara tridimensional" leo en esa maravillosa libreta que me compré a principio de curso y que ya no uso...), pero como el último proyecto es un corto en técnicas mixtas (muchas técnicas juntas), estoy empezando a darle vueltas.

Otra cosa a lo que le doy vueltas es a esta canción, que desde que me compré el nuevo de Franz Ferdinand no he parado de escuchar. Curiosamente, aún no me he cansado, que es algo que me suele pasar: me obsesiono una temporada, me canso, la dejo, me vuelvo a obsesionar, me vuelvo a cansar... hasta el infinito).

Así que creo que voy a hacer algo con esta canción para final de curso. Serían casi tres minutos de animación. No sé si alguien querrá trabajar conmigo, pero esta canción tiene que salir en algún sitio. Y caminados. Quiero hacer caminados, soy así de masoca XD

*La rotoscopia es una técnica de animación que consiste en utilizar una referencia grabada en vídeo de acción real para crear una animación. Puede utilizarse como mera herramienta para simplificar un trabajo de animación (Disney la ha utilizado en las películas 2D) o bien puede utilizarse de una forma artística y un poco más loca (vamos, que se te ir la pinza como a este señor de aquí).

I've had an idea. We're doing a rotoscopy* exercise about movie kisses in animation right now (it will be up as soon as I finish it) and I think there's another technique left ("tridimensional animation" I read in my wonderful notebook bought at the beginning of the term, that has no use anymore...), but the last project is a short movie done with mixed techniques (a lot of techniques together), so I'm thinking already of what to do.

Another thing I think about is this song (video above) that I have stuck in my head since I bought Franz Ferdinand's new CD and that I've been playing again and again. It's curious that I'm not fed up already with it. I usually get obsessed with a song and then I get tired (and then obsessed again, and then tired again... to infinite and beyond).

So I think I'll do something with this song. That would be nearly 3 minutes of animation. I don't know if anyone will be willing to work with me, but this song has to appear somewhere. And walking animations. I want to do walking animations, I'm that kind of masochist xD

*Rotoscopy is an animation technique that consists on using a filmed reference of a real action video to create an animation. It can be used as a mere instrument to simplify an animation work (Disney uses rotoscopy in 2D films) or it can be used in much more artistically and crazy ways (as this certain gentleman does).

Esto, junto con la actualización de ayer, es lo que he entregado como políptico para Proyectos de Dibujo. Como trabajo deja un poco que desear, pero como parte de la preparación del cómic me ha servido bastante. Aún me queda mucho trabajo por hacer, pero al menos sé que no me defendería mal con el color en digital.

Aún está en proceso, puede cambiar (de hecho necesito conseguir un cambio evidente entre un antes y un después). // I called him "the doctor". Now he finally has a name: Julian R. Cole. He's still in process, he can change. Actually, I need a real change, before and after.

Un escenario, básicamente para practicar porque es algo que se me resiste. Al final me dijeron que lo que más molaba era el fondo de la ciudad, que arreglé en cinco minutos para acabar... // A setting, because is one of this things I don't seem to get at all. I was told that the best part was the distant city that I arranged last-minute because I had to finish...

This and yesterday's post are part of my last project for 'Proyectos de Dibujo'. As a project is a little poor, but as the development of the comic it serves its purpose. Still, there's a lot of things to do but at least I know I'm not that bad with digital color.

Tengo un montón de ideas, he empezado a trabajar con semanas de antelación, estoy trabajando todos los días, me motiva lo que hago...

...y hoy no puedo más. No me funciona el cerebro. O quizá es la conexión del cerebro con la mano. Estoy viendo ahora todas las carencias que tengo y me faltan recursos por todas partes. Quizá lo del cómic me venga un poco grande.

Esta vez hemos estado liados con la cortinilla de una entrega de medallas que se hace todos los años en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de Valencia. Después de muchas horas, mucho curro y mucho de todo, ha salido algo como esto. ¡Espero que os guste!

Proyectos de dibujo, el tríptico.

Lo entrego tarde, pero más vale tarde y bien que pronto y mal. Y estoy orgullosa de mí porque he terminado antes de las 12 de la noche del día anterior (aunque sea tres días más tarde...).

¿Tiene historia esto? Sí, la tiene: la idea era expresar con ilustraciones que parecieran fotografías las razones por las que he acabado y sigo en Bellas Artes. Evidentemente, esas fotos no existen, pero son imágenes mentales que yo tengo.

Proyectos de dibujo, triptych. It's a late delivery (the date was last Thursday), but better good late than early bad. And I'm proud of myself 'cause I've finished it before 24pm of the day before (three days late, but oh well...).

Does it have a story? Yes, it does. My idea was to express with illustrations that look like photographs the reasons why I ended up in Fine Arts and why I'm still here. This photos don't actually exist, but they're mental images I have in my head.

El jueves a las 12 se inaugura la exposición 'Viaje Interior 09' en la sala de exposiciones Lametro, con todos los autoretratos de gente de Proyectos de Dibujo I de Bellas Artes. No está mal, ¿no?

Más animación

Pintura bajo cámara / Painting animation

Esta vez subo los dos ejercicios de pintura bajo cámara que hemos hecho (esta vez Psychoboy y yo). La pintura es óleo, por lo que la técnica es un tanto sucia y algo complicada de manejar. El primer ejercicio consistía en un caminado de 12 frames (un segundo en animación) en ciclo. A ninguno de los dos nos gustó demasiado este ejercicio, aunque lo peor vino después, cuando el profesor nos lanzó una crítica bastante jodida: la clase tiene mal nivel de dibujo (y nosotros estábamos incluídos). Auch.

There were two painting animation (sorry, I'm translating, I don't know the right term) that we've done (Psychoboy and me this time). It was oil painting, so the technique was quite dirty and a little bit complicated. The first exercise was a 12 frame walking (a second in animation) on a loop. Neither him nor I were very enthusiastic about it. But the worst came later, when the teacher threw some destroying critics at us: the class has a bad drawing level (and we are included). Ouch, that hurts.

El segundo ejercicio era otro bastante sencillo: una pelota botando, sin límite de tiempo. No nos complicamos demasiado la vida e improvisamos un poco, haciendo hincapié en la elasticidad de la pelota. De lo que no nos dimos cuenta es que la superficie se movía un huevo, y por alguna razón la cámara capturaba cuatro frames cada vez... Un poco desastre, pero bueno, sobre este no hubo crítica mala, sólo eso.

The second exercise was simple: a bouncing ball, no time limit. We didn't want to do anything very complicated and we improvised a little, emphazising the elasticity. But we didn't notice that the surface we were recording on moved a lot and for some reason the camera captured four frames at a time... Kind of messy, but well, we didn't receive any destroying critic this time.

Recortables / Cut out
El ejercicio de recortables era individual, pero como nosotros molamos mogollón, lo hicimos en trío (Marineta, Jon y yo). La idea inicial era hacer el ejercicio individualmente, pero con un tema común, para después añadir un final común. Peeero... Bellas Artes es un arduo campo de batalla... y para conseguir un puñetero ordenador para grabar tuvimos que pelear con uñas y dientes.

Aún así, aquí está el resultado (sin terminar, con planes de terminarlo en un futuro más o menos cercano):

The cut out exercise was an individual exercise, but we did it trio because we're awesome (Marineta, Jon and me). The initial idea was to do each exercise individual but with the same theme, and then add the same end for everyone. But... my friends, Fine Arts is a battlefield and so we had to fight... to get a stupid computer to record the exercise.

Anyway, here it is (not finished, we plan to do it in a more or less near future, promise)

Esta vez, el trabajo de Proyectos de Dibujo consistía en un díptico -dos imágenes que funcionan como una y como dos al mismo tiempo-.

Hay veces que bajo presión se me ocurren buenas ideas y consigo resolverlas bastante bien, dentro de lo que cabe. Esta no era una de esas veces. No hay significado profundo-y-existencial, sólo un popurrí de imágenes que me vinieron a la cabeza y que conseguí enlazar con poco acierto. Pero bueno, otra vez será...

PD: Dije que veríais para qué eran los autoretratos de la otra vez. Si no he dicho nada es porque todavía no ha pasado nada. Pero en cuanto sepa seguro cuándo empieza el rollo os aviso :)

(Me había propuesto no escribir nada muy personal en este blog, porque no es para eso, pero bueno... qué más da)

No celebro mi cumpleaños desde que tenía 12 años más o menos. No lo digo con tristeza: no creo que sea un día especial. No espero nada ese día, no me enfado si a alguien se le olvida, porque sé que a mí, si no fuera por las notitas que me hago, los tuentis y los facebooks se me olvidaría irremediablemente. Viene de familia: mi padre tardó media hora en acordarse ayer por la noche, desde que entró por la puerta hasta que mi madre se lo recordó xD

Pero, tampoco soy de piedra. Y me contento con cualquier cosa. Por eso que la gente se acuerde de mí, y no sólo eso sino que convierta el día en especial con pequeñas cosas, me hace ilusión. Que pueda recordar mis 21 como uno de los mejores cumpleaños, sin celebración épica de por medio, creo que es algo especial.

Por eso, muchas gracias. A todos los que me felicitaron y a todos los que consiguieron que el día fuera así de genial :)

(I didn't want to get too much personal in this blog, it's not its purpose but... what the hell)

I haven't held a celebration for my birthday since I was twelve, more or less. I have no regrets: it's not a special day. I don't expect anything this day, I don't get mad if someone forgets, it would happen to me if it wasn't for the notes, tuentis and facebooks. I'm hopeless with dates and names. It goes with the family: it took my dad about half an hour yesterday evening, since he got home until my mum told him xD

But, well, I'm not made of stone. And every little thing makes me happy. That's why, when people remember and, even more, when people makes this day to be special with great little details, it makes me happy. To be able to remember my 21st birthday to be one of the best I've ever had, no epic celebration inbetween... It's something quite special.

Because of that, thank you. To everyone that remembered and to those who made the day to be so awesome :)

Segunda semana de curso y todavía no consigo dormir las horas que tocan. Es muy chungo esto del horario de tarde ¿sabéis? Para alguien como yo, darle toda la mañana para dormir hasta las tantas es algo así como darle permiso para estar despierta a las 2 y pico largas de la mañana haciendo cosas como esta:

Por supuesto, sólo habrá que esperar a que los trabajos me inunden y me ahoguen para que haga exactamente lo mismo pero sin llegar a dormir nada.

En Valencia hay muchas palomas. En mi opinión, hay sobrepoblación de palomas. Nunca he entendido por qué a la gente le hacen tanta gracia las palomas si son sucias, feas, carroñeras y siniestras. Sí, siniestras. Estoy segura de que traman algo...

Ya es casi octubre. Ya era hora de volver. O no. Pero ya sabéis que siempre vuelvo para dar el coñazo...

Por ahora trasteo con la cabecera y los colorines y las tipografías y todo eso. No hay blogroll ni enlaces chachis todavía, pero dadme tiempo.

Nearly October. About time. Or not. But you know (and if you don't know I'm telling you) that I always come back to be a pain in the ass.

For now, just changing the header and the colours and typography and all that. There's still no blogroll and cool links, but give me some time.
